Welcome To the Uzona Times

Welcome, creekers! Have you ever felt like other people know more than you? Missed out on rumors? Felt stupid in casual conversations? Wanted a local source of news? Well, this news blog is for you! For those of you who have already solved these problems, I also have world-class and local news ready when available, so please tune in and allow me to show you Uzona.

Local Families

Not many people live in Short Creek, so some of the local families can be listed here, along with some things that can be attributed to them.

Although these are definitely not the only families, they are examples of some of the main ones.

Area and Local Attraction Companies

Short Creek is a beautiful place, with many hidden trails, attractions, parks, and adventures, without even having to go out of town! The local business directory, While You’re In Town, does a wonderful job of showing people these, as well as most other things! Go to their homepage, whileyourintown.com, as soon as you’ve read this post. As well as While You’re In Town, Lifted Spirits offers tours to people going places like Edge of the World, and other exciting trails and sights for tourists. Uzona is situated right in the middle of a valley with El Capitan (meaning “the captain” in spanish) on the North side and the Cottonwood Point wilderness on the East side, there are so many trails and hikes to go on, even if you don’t follow a trail! While we are in a desert, we are only one hour away from one of the worlds most toured areas…drumroll please…the grand canyon! This national park attracts 5 million tourists every year, from all around the world, while we creekers can get there in an hour. How amazing is that? But the grand canyon is not the only national park near us. Zion is also only an hour away! if you have the money to get in, then one could go over to Zion for an easy (though perhaps not cheap) trip.

News for March, 2024

Only 1 hour away from Orlando, Florida, 11 fifty-pound Burmese Pythons were found and exterminated. Burmese Pythons can grow up to 18 feet long and are strong enough to beat even alligators to a pulp. These monstrosities were brought from Asia mainly as pets for fancy people, so they were imported by the hundreds! I bet they ate their owners. Anyway, all of the beasts imported have eaten 90% of mammals in their hunting grounds, leaving alligators scrambling for food. Some are so desperate, they go into populated areas and eat cats and dogs!

Well, that’s it for this month. Check back next month for more news!
